Official Lampasas County records must come from the office that created or maintains them. Felony files are kept by the District Clerk, County Court misdemeanors by the County Clerk, and sheriff reports or jail records by the Sheriff. The contacts below route each request to the proper public office.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot obtain, certify, change, or remove a criminal record, run an official check, or accept a Texas expunction filing.

Need an Official Record?

Use the office tied to the record and court level:

  • Felony case files: Lampasas County District Clerk, Annex 1, Suite 204, 409 S. Pecan St., Lampasas, TX 76550; 512-556-8271; fax 512-556-9463; districtclerk@co.lampasas.tx.us. Published counter hours were not verified, so call first.
  • County Court misdemeanors: Lampasas County Clerk, Annex 1, Suite 201, 409 S. Pecan St., Lampasas, TX 76550; main county number 512-556-8271. The office closes for the noon hour and does not perform public name searches.
  • Sheriff reports, bookings, jail records, and local registration questions: Lampasas County Sheriff and Jail, 1210 Barnes St., Lampasas, TX 76550; 512-556-8255; fax 512-556-5809; sheriff@co.lampasas.tx.us. No separate records-counter hours were posted.
  • State criminal-history records: contact the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division. Its public name search and fingerprint-based personal review answer different questions.
  • Municipal or justice-court records: contact the court that issued the citation or capias. The Lampasas County Courthouse at 501 E. Fourth St. houses Justice of the Peace Precinct 1; other city and precinct courts maintain their own files.
  • Police incident reports: request the report from the police department that created it, not automatically from the county sheriff or court clerk.

The Sheriff is the main county contact for its own law-enforcement and jail material. The District Clerk and County Clerk at Annex 1 are the contacts for case documents. A focused request should name the record, date range, agency, and report, booking, or cause number when known.
